Filings & regulation
Material event filing
Also called Form 8-K or RNS announcement
A filing disclosing a significant event promptly, outside the normal reporting schedule.
How it works
Executive departures, acquisitions, auditor changes, covenant breaches and restatements all trigger a filing within a short deadline.
Because they arrive between scheduled reports, they are frequently the first public sign of a problem.
