Corporate actions
Guidance
A company’s own forecast of its future results.
How it works
Guidance shapes analyst estimates and therefore the bar the company will later be measured against. Some companies deliberately guide conservatively.
Withdrawing guidance is a significant signal, usually indicating management cannot forecast its own business with confidence.
